International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) Our ISEP Students Give Back To Our Global Society

Appomense Hope For Africa (AHFA) ISEP volunteers engage in student and community interaction to promote academic/social excellence and empowerment that contributes to positive character development and individual wellness to AHFA beneficiaries. ISEP volunteers serve as mentors, teachers, leaders and friends to advocate critical-thinking and encouragement to foster individual and community cohesiveness.

Exchange students develop and implement innovative strategies to share and learn international culture, music, arts, sports, games and recreation with youth as a mutual benefit to be shared locally and internationally. The work of GCP Ghana volunteers doesn’t end in Ghana…our volunteers are extended the opportunity to continue their efforts in various capacities from their native countries.

20% of volunteer time fulfills administration and training duties. Our volunteers work with our Ghanaian staff to insure that all program activities are planned, documented and recorded properly to demonstrate accountability, transparency and effectiveness of programs and events. Our volunteers assist in training the local staff personnel on proper office etiquette (documenting, filing, reporting, computer use, Microsoft Office, database information etc.) Volunteers check and verify the administration of the Ghana staff and will assist in establishing, improving and documenting processes and procedures that will assist in the effectiveness of the program operations. Volunteers will also contribute to the research and development and analyzing processes for existing programs and future programs for urban and rural areas of Ghana.

All of our volunteer staff and ISEP students are evaluated on performance, efficiency and effectiveness based on the assignments, tasks and responsibilities to fulfill. AHFA is pleased to write letters of recommendation for volunteers / ISEP students that have diligently worked and assisted us in fulfilling our mission and objectives. We encourage and appreciate our tenacious volunteers / ISEP students and understand that a positive letter of recommendation is often instrumental in obtaining future volunteer, education and career opportunities for the student volunteer.
